Neurolab ATX-47 is VST / Audio Unit plugin instrument compatible with Windows & MAC that was developed especially for Drum & Bass, Neurofunk, Dubstep producers, as well as Breakcore, Darkstep, Techstep, Hardcore, Post Jungle Drum and bass also Riddim, Futuristic Drumstep and any genre of Bass music production like Experimental jump-up, Metal n Bass, futuristic experimental music and many other electronic genres.
This plugin instrument includes more than 110 multi-octave instrument banks in various layers / wide range octaves. The sounds were designed for modern futuristic Drum & Bass / Neurofunk. Included are various sci-fi modulated basslines, technomechanic basslines, speaking wobblers, leads, reesers, FX hybrid resampled organic sounding basslines, Bass hits / Wubs, Modulated subbass, Atmospheric pseudopads / soundscapes and much more.
In the development were used wide range of digital, and dsp hardware synthesizers + effects including our own unreleased synthesizer prototypes for an unique advanced sound that has never been heard before!
We used advanced resampling and reprocessing techniques, including image resampling, futuristic granulizing, to create post-apocalyptic new types of sounds / bass. We used also neuronal network synthesizers such as Hartmann Neuron / AI synthesizers.

How to make Neurofunk / Drum n Bass music
The production of Bass music, especially modern Drum & Bass / Neurofunk is a very demanding process. Usually you need several years of daily training and moving forward to reach a world level identical to the top record labels – in terms of sound design, production, arrangements, mixing, mastering. This is only possible as long as you devote yourself to production continuously, every day, not just as a hobby in addition to working 2 hours a day. Just as you wouldn’t win the Olympics by training for half an hour once every 3 days in addition to work, it’s the same with the production of such demanding genres, while you want to be among the top. One of the most difficult and time consuming processes is sound design itself – creating sounds. The production and mixing itself can be learned within 1 year, but the mastering process of creation of individual sounds can take more than 3 years, while the creation of one sound can take a leisurely 3 hours and more. You need several, often dozens of sounds for each track.
We often spent more than 3-4 hours creating one sound / bank in a wide range of octaves, often longer and chooses just best banks (it means made 10 sounds to choose just one for final selection). If you were to create each sound individually at this rate and production is not your full-time job, you would create one track for maybe more than half a year or even more. But also at the same time the musician has to devote himself to a lot of work, marketing, preparing dj sets, traveling, and in the meantime he gets away a lot of opportunities.
Modern music is very demanding and therefore it is also created with the use of semi-finished products, instruments, sound banks which are subsequently re-effected, processed for example using external effects, layering, resampling, which creates new sounds and colors. In the end, the listener doesn’t care if you created all the sounds from scratch, or if you re-effected and layered sounds from different sources. Just as restaurant visitors do not care whether the chef grew each herb himself in his garden or bought it at the local market – what matters is the final result and the mix of flavors, final product.
The usage of samples / sound banks is a common practice in drum and bass / neurofunk – even desirable because sounds directly from synthesizers sound too RAW, sharp and digital, so they are often resampled using various techniques, processed through a number of analog and digital devices (such as multiband distortions, filters, modulators)or plug-ins, then modulated, remodulate etc.

You can play all sounds in a wide range of octaves, unlike normal samples that don’t sound good if you play them in other octaves especially donwsample at low notes. Neurolab contains banks that are recorded in a wide range of octaves and sound good at least from C3 to C6. Then you can transform the sounds into completely new sounds using external effects such as single and multi-band distortions, dimension expanders, filters, modulators / chorus, reverbs, etc.
