The Analog Warming X-Stopper AS470 is a high-quality, all-in-one analog compressor/limiter nonlinear algorithmic simulation. Rather than being two separate processors, this device seamlessly transitions from natural automatic compression at slower time constants to a fast, analog-sounding limiter—or anything in between. Its primary mission is to prevent sharp peaks in your mix from exceeding 0dB (PROTECT YOUR MIX / INDIVIDUAL MIX CHANNELS or MASTER), but it does so with a very natural, gentle touch. It mimics the behavior of analog tape or analog mixing consoles, which, instead of harsh digital clipping or rigid limiting, gently saturate and round off peaks and transients. Whether the device is acting as a compressor or a limiter, the peak will never exceed 0dB, providing perfect and natural protection for every track.

Analog Characteristics & Unique Sonic Signature

The Warming X-Stopper is a highly versatile tool. At slow time constants, it mimics the behavior of classic analog compressors; at fast constants, it transforms into a smooth analog limiter. Just like with hardware gear or tape, the level of compression/limiting is controlled by the input signal volume—Input Drive. This allows the mix engineer to simultaneously dial in the desired level of warmth and fatness. Stop using digitally cold, hard limiters. The X-Stopper AS470 operates on the principle of emulated analog “soft-shaping” of peaks and non-linear saturation.

The AS470 also features an emulated analog coil equalizer utilizing our Ratio Auream technology.
